Social Activity & Events Mobile App UX/UI Design | Lit App

Lit App is a social mobile app that helps people find a great spot to hang out with new friends. The primary aim of the app is to showcase activities and hobbies available nearby and in faraway places. It also puts a strong focus on social interaction, letting users connect and discuss their future leisure plans together.

Our goal was to create a mobile app design that makes joining activities simple, feels engaging from the first screen and is backed by a bold, memorable brand identity.

Finding people to share an activity with is often harder than finding the activity itself. Users need relevant suggestions, an easy way to join, and a place to talk with the group before they meet. The project aimed to enhance the user experience by simplifying the booking process, integrating engaging social features and building a robust brand identity. The main challenges were to develop an activity system tailored to each user's preferences, create a chat for communication between members, and design a map with nearby and remote locations.

The project was organized into two sprints to ensure a smooth workflow and fast delivery.

In Sprint 1, Project Strategy, we worked on strategy, discovery, competitor analysis and product hypotheses.

In Sprint 2, Interface Development, we created wireframes, explored design concepts, designed the final UI and built a design system. In parallel, we developed the app's branding, including a fiery app icon and the playful tagline "Just playing with fire."

All the necessary information is in one place: reminders, search, all activities and filtering by tags such as Games, Culture, Sports, Outdoor or Technology for easy navigation. Users see top activities nearby and can filter by time period.

A map with nearby and remote locations helps users discover new activities in their area and beyond. Each activity opens a detailed card with the description, organizer, date and time, price per person, how many people are going, and a single Join button.

A familiar chat pattern lets participants communicate and prepare for the activity in advance, with clear message threads and quick actions like deleting conversations.

All activities live in one place, where users can see cancelled, current and ongoing events. Notifications deliver key reminders about new members joining, closing or ending an activity, and adding new ones.

The final design delivers a social mobile app experience that makes finding activities and new friends simple and fun, from discovery and joining to chatting with the group. Urbanist typography, a soft palette with coral, blue and green accents, and a bold fire-inspired brand identity give Lit App a friendly, energetic personality that stands out among social apps.
