Offensive Questions — Turning a Party Card Game Into a Vibrant Mobile Experience

Overview

Offensive Questions is a mobile app that brings a popular party card game to the phone, with a variety of card packs and game stages. Players choose from a wide range of characters, compete with friends and collect points, in person or in virtual mode. A bright, playful design sets the game apart from its competitors. Our goal was to create a mobile app design that keeps every round exciting and makes players feel fully immersed in the game from the first screen to the final punishment.

The Challenge

Party card games can quickly become repetitive. The main challenge was to make the gameplay diverse by introducing different stages that keep players on edge throughout the game. At the same time, the design had to convey a real sense of fun. A plain, generic interface would kill the party mood, so the visuals needed to feel bold and playful while staying simple enough for a group to pick up and play right away.

Our Approach

We started with analysis: competitor research and a Customer Journey Map covering every step from app launch to the pre-game lobby, including users' goals, touchpoints, pain points and possible improvements. Based on these insights, we built a clear user flow: start, onboarding, registration, game creation, playing the game, marketplace and the final results. We then created a lo-fi prototype to validate the structure, collected a moodboard to define the visual concept, and moved into UI design and testing.

UX/UI Design Solution

Quick Game Creation

Players choose a character, create a name, select a card pack, add friends and start the game in a few simple steps. A 21+ mode toggle and a choice between in-person and virtual modes let groups tailor each session.

Three Game Stages With Twists

The game has three different stages, and players earn points in every round. A freeze mechanic temporarily blocks a player from earning points, and players can skip a question, which keeps every round unpredictable.

Points, Avatars & Punishments

Avatar cards and a live leaderboard show each player's score. At the end, all points are tallied, and the loser has to complete a punishment chosen by the app.

In-App Marketplace

Between and after games, users can buy new card packs, merch and posters in the app's style, turning the game into a full product ecosystem.

Deliverables:

Competitor Analysis
Customer Journey Map
User Flow
Lo-Fi Prototype
Moodboard & Visual Concept

Marketplace Screens
Color Palette & Typography

Outcome

The final design delivers a vibrant, multi-colored mobile game experience with varied gameplay, playful characters and a clear structure that groups can start using in seconds. Bold Agdasima typography and a palette of blues, orange and warm cream give Offensive Questions a fun, recognizable identity that stands out among party games.
