Email Marketing Strategy
A good Email Marketing Strategy should increase the overall efficiency or Conversion of your current Sales Funnel. And sales funnels will be us turning total strangers into paying clients.
And one of the main ways is through content.
So you research the content you create, create it, and then post it. About 10% of the people view the content. And then of all the people who view views, 5% of those thusly become a lead.
And then once you have the leads, about 10% of those on average(without email marketing) book a call with you. And then of the people that book a call with you, you probably have a 20% closing rate of them that become a client. Ok, so this is without email marketing and what a typical sales funnel looks like.
Here's why I love Email Marketing.
Good Email Marketing if done correctly, when you post the content instead of just 10% of people seeing it, if you send an email blast out to people saying, "Hey, check this thing out. I just posted this YouTube video or I just created this new course."
Whatever it is, you can double on average the amount of people that are seeing it by sending an email blast out to your email list.
But now, instead of 10% seeing the content, we have 20%. Then of the people who see it, only 5% of them become leads. But then of these people that become leads(the people that give you their names, email, and phone number saying, Hey, I want to learn a little bit more about this), well we're going to send them emails that say;
Hey, do you want to book a call to speak with us? OR
Hey, here's some email about Testimonials.
Here's an email that tells you a little bit more about my Story and why I'm similar to you.
And so that can once again double the amount people that are booking calls. So instead of simply 10% of leads, now we have 20% of people, which is massive. We are doubling the Efficiency of the funnel.
And here's a little bit more on how you can automate the entire process.
Most of your best emails should be reserved for when people do book a call to speak with you or attempt to buy the product or service.
So this is literally 6X the amount of the bottom line revenue with the same amount of work once we automate it. You're not using any more money, you're just squeezing more out of the juice that you already have.
Here are the different types of email marketing strategies that you can do:
Email Campaigns (Ad HOC),
Email Automation and
Segregation.
Email Campaigns:
Also known as Ad hoc means whenever you feel like it OR whenever you want to, that's what Ad hoc essentially means. So let's say you got a Testimonial from a client and you want all your clients to know about it, then you create the email and send it out OR you have a YouTube video you just posted and you send the email to your email list saying(Hey, check out this email). That is an Email Campaign, it's not automated, it's really whenever you want to use it.
2. Email Automation
Email Automation involves setting up triggers based on specific actions, like an if-then statement, so let's say;
If someone subscribes to your email list, then you're going to send them Email 1.
If this person becomes a lead, then we're going to send them Email 2.
If this person books an appointment, then we're going to send them Email 3.
It is triggered automatically and it's sent to them automatically without you having to type up any more emails.
So this is the main difference between Automation and Campaigns;
Campaigns are for testing, you use them to come up with an idea and send it out to everybody on your email list, while
Automations are for engagements; where you set it up on the email software so that anytime somebody does something, then you send them the email.
For example, you blast an idea out to everybody on your email list, and then after 3days, 5days, or 7days, you're going to look at the reports of that campaign, and then based on the reports, you're going to decide if it's a winner or not. Look at metrics like;
What was the click-through rate?
What was the open rate?
Did you get any booked appointments or closed deals?
So we use the Email Campaigns to know the best emails to add to our email list, this way when new people join your email list you'll add them into an automation and put them into an automation sequence so they get those tested emails every single time. Over time, your automation that every single lead gets is just the best emails that you've ever sent and statistically speaking, it's just the accumulation of all the best emails that you know brings booked appointments and closed deals. That's how you can increase the efficiency of your sales funnel, and increase the bottom-line profit of your company.
3. Segregation
Another essential Email Marketing Strategy is Segregation, which means that not all leads are created equal. So depending on what type of email I'm sending out or depending on which automation they're in, I want to send those emails only to specific people.
Here’s why segregation matters:
Let's say you have an email list that doesn't want to get an email every single three times a week. So if you are sending them emails three times a week, they would probably get pissed off and they would probably unsubscribe. But maybe you want to send emails to the people that you know have clicked on your previous emails so you can segregate your audience to people who are engaging with your emails because they want more and more.
A lot of people don't use segregation when it comes to their email marketing strategy, so they send the same email to everybody. And the issue with that is it's not customized, you don't have a high open rate, and you don't have a high click-through or response rate.
