Stakeholder needed to collect revenue allocation percentages from 30+ principals for 500+ projects, compile all of the information into a database, and analyze metrics to be delivered via personalized reports. No new software or difficult to use solutions.
The solution:
This is an ongoing process that is refined each year based on a growing company and management's willingness to embrace new technologies. The original process saw the CEO calling 10 project managers to allocate less than 50 projects into a basic Excel spreadsheet, and has grown into a fully automated data collection process and operational database for 30+ PMs and 500+ projects.
I was tasked with simplifying, automating, and running the process, and have made improvements each year based on user feedback, and management's needs. This included the adding of additional generation metrics which are calculated within the new system.
The project included building a new revenue database, automating data collection, analyzation, visualization, and the design of individual performance reports.
