Trello: An Easy Opportunity to Impress New Clients
This simple Trello onboarding automation gives new clients a great first impression while saving ~1 hour for the business by eliminating several repetitive administrative tasks (and reducing the inevitable errors made by humans).
While Trello may not be the ideal replacement for a dedicated project management tool, it does provide an opportunity to increase client satisfaction and retention through transparent operational processes.
Stripe Integration
The automation begins when a client makes a payment through Stripe. This triggers a webhook in Make.com, which begins the rest of this automation.
Trello Board Creation
In Trello, the automation workflow goes on to create a new board with predefined lists and tasks ('cards'). This is a basic setup that can be customized based on the specific needs of the client, making it a flexible one. Using a Trello template, the boards can be as simple or elaborate as desired.
Google Sheets
Once Trello has been set up, the client's details, including name, contact information, and payment details are stored in Google Sheets, ready to be used in other organization automations as needed.
Automated Communications
The final two steps of this automation send a warm welcome email to the new client with login details and a Slack message to the team member managing the project, allowing the onboarding process to continue smoothly
Trello Can Make Onboarding a Seamless Process for Everyone
This is not a complicated automation; it is designed to give new clients a smooth onboarding experience, saving around an hour per onboarded client in basic setup. This saved time can then be used to customize the boards based on the clients needs and project scope; with more refinement, this could be automated.
This workflow is a flexible one that can easily be expanded, feeding into other automations into a preferred CRM like Airtable instead of Google Sheets. Further automations could feed completed tasks into Trello, giving clients an open and transparent experience.
