Strategic Report Design on TFGBV for BBYDI

Brain Builders International (BBI), a UK-based NGO committed to social equity, commissioned me as a Senior Creative Designer to develop a compelling and strategic report design. The focus: Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) in Nigeria — a pressing digital and social justice issue.

BBI needed a professional, readable, and emotionally engaging report that could:

Present heavy data in a digestible, audience-friendly format

Balance the sensitivity of TFGBV with authoritative design

Aid policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and donor mobilization

Align visually with both UK and Nigerian audience sensibilities

The report examined how digital violence replicates offline gender inequalities, especially targeting women, youth, LGBTQ+ communities, and public figures in Nigeria. It highlighted key causes, impacts, and legal gaps, offering policy recommendations.

As a designer, I was responsible for transforming this complex narrative into a cohesive visual product that elevated both clarity and emotional resonance.

My scope included:

Visual strategy and design system for the full report

Layout design of a 20–30 page document

Data visualization (charts, maps, iconography)

Cover concept, typography, and digital/web-optimized version

I worked closely with the BBI team, incorporating feedback loops to align with advocacy goals.

Using a blend of serif-sans pairing, soft-but-bold color palettes, and minimalistic data design, I crafted a report that:

Improved comprehension through structured hierarchy

Evoked empathy without sensationalizing trauma

Met accessibility and readability benchmarks for both print and digital formats

The final design was praised by BBI and its advocacy partners, and has since been used in donor engagement and stakeholder briefings.
