Make Data Your Best Performing Channel
Lumos is a MarTech platform that bridges online and offline advertising — using IoT, geotagging, and mobility data from 18 million+ Australian mobile devices to measure out-of-home ad effectiveness. Founded by Eric Fan (Forbes 30 Under 30) and backed by Startmate, Lumos engaged Refract for product design and media planning, including white-label platform work for enterprise partners such as Publicis and Accenture.

The problem

Lumos had pivoted from a hardware business (IoT-enabled delivery bags) into a platform-as-a-service model. Its product experience needed to match the sophistication of the underlying data engine, which processes over 50 million data points daily.
The design had to serve both sides of the marketplace — advertisers optimising campaign spend and media owners valuing their inventory — and both audiences expect enterprise-grade UX.

What we made

Refract delivered product design across the Lumos platform: campaign interface design and user flow refinements, alongside media planning strategy. The engagement included white-labelling the platform for enterprise partners, running over multiple months with consistent iteration against real user feedback.
