With a clean split-pane interface, it combines visual recognition, intuitive navigation, and an embedded file preview for a more fluid document management experience. The left panel provides persistent folder access, while the right panel instantly displays document previews, eliminating unnecessary navigation steps.

The Problem In traditional file management systems, users are often forced to scroll through long lists and rely on remembering exact file names. This “recall over recognition” approach creates high cognitive load, slows decision-making, and risks user fatigue especially for visual tasks like sorting invoices or creative assets.

The Solution This design applies the Recognition Over Recall principle: “Users should not have to remember information from one part of the interface to another.” By defaulting to thumbnail-based invoice cards rather than list-only views, the interface allows users to identify files instantly through visual memory instead of reading each file name. This reduces cognitive strain, speeds up selection, and makes navigation faster and more intuitive.
