Overview This redesigned Connect Dashboard is built to enhance professional networking by offering a clean, familiar, and intuitive interface. The design ensures users can navigate effortlessly, discover opportunities, and engage with their community without unnecessary friction. The Problem The previous dashboard experience lacked clarity in navigation and suffered from visual clutter, which made it harder for users to focus on important interactions. Overlapping content hierarchy and inconsistent placement of primary actions increased cognitive load, leading to slower user engagement and reduced content discovery.

The Solution The new design follows Jakob’s Law — “Users spend most of their time on other sites. This means they prefer your site to work the same way as the ones they already know” (source: lawsofux.com). By leveraging familiar layout patterns such as a persistent sidebar navigation, a top search bar, and a central content feed, the dashboard aligns with users’ mental models from popular networking platforms like LinkedIn. This reduces the learning curve, improves task efficiency, and builds trust through recognizability.
