Kapital Nekretnine is a real estate company that approached me to design a new website aligned with their refreshed brand identity. Their goal was to stand out in a crowded real estate market by offering a more intuitive, visual, and location-driven property search experience, while still supporting traditional search behaviors.
The Challenge
Most real estate platforms rely heavily on filters and lists, which can feel overwhelming and impersonal. Kapital Nekretnine wanted a more human, exploratory way for users to find properties—especially for buyers who think in terms of regions rather than exact parameters.
Key challenges included:
Translating the new brand into a digital experience
Designing a unique search experience centered around geography
Supporting both exploratory browsing and direct search
Ensuring the experience worked seamlessly across desktop and mobile
The Solution
The core concept was a map-driven search experience exposed directly on the homepage. Instead of hiding location behind filters, users are immediately presented with a regional map, allowing them to click directly into the area where they want to buy property.
To support different user behaviors, the homepage also includes:
A prominent search bar for users who prefer direct input
Exposed property categories to enable quick discovery
Curated property sections to guide users who are still exploring
This approach balances inspiration and efficiency, giving users multiple clear entry points into the property listings.
Map Interaction
Process
Discovery & Structure
I started with discovery sessions to understand business goals, user needs, and how properties are typically searched. Together, we defined the site structure, key pages, and primary user flows.
Wireframes & Prototyping
Low-fidelity wireframes were created to validate layout, information hierarchy, and interactions—especially around the map-based search. Interactive prototypes helped test how users would navigate between regions, categories, and listings.
Visual Design & Motion
I designed the full UI for both desktop and mobile, ensuring consistency and responsiveness. Subtle animations were introduced to make interactions feel smooth and premium, especially when engaging with the map and search elements.
Handoff
Final designs, animations, and interaction specs were handed off to developers with clear documentation to ensure smooth implementation.

Outcome
The final result is a brand-aligned, visually distinctive real estate platform that prioritizes location-based exploration without sacrificing usability. The exposed regional map creates a memorable first impression, while the search bar and categories ensure fast, familiar navigation for all user types.
This project demonstrates how thoughtful UX, combined with strong visual identity, can transform a standard real estate website into an engaging discovery experience.
