Designing the First Digital Marketplace Experience for a Leading Used-Car Dealer

This project was about helping a well-established car dealership in Punjab make its first real move from a traditional, offline business to a modern digital identity. They wanted a simple, trustworthy mobile experience that brought their offline reputation into a clean marketplace app.
My goal was to turn their service stack — used cars, finance, insurance, verification, and onboarding — into a clear and approachable mobile experience that any buyer in Punjab could understand instantly.

Summary

The old workflow was fully offline and spread across calls, WhatsApp chats, and in-person visits. Nothing existed digitally. I designed their first mobile marketplace experience from scratch: onboarding, car listings, insurance management, finance details, and flow screens.
The result is a clean, easy-to-use app that gives traditional customers a familiar but modern way to browse cars, verify details, and manage documents — without losing the trust the dealership already had offline.

1. The Problems They Faced

No digital presence

All operations were manual. Customers had to call or visit physically to see options or get updates.

No structured identity

There was no clear brand direction, UI language, or system to unify their services.

Complex offline workflows

Insurance, car details, photos, and finance information were all shared manually and inconsistently.

High friction for customers

Everything took longer, and users had low visibility into available cars or the process.

2. What Success Looked Like

A simple and trustworthy app for customers new to digital tools
Clean UI that reflects reliability, not flashiness
Clear and easy car browsing experience
Smooth onboarding and verification
Organized flows for insurance, finance, and uploading vehicle details
A design system the brand could grow with

3. What I Designed

A. Simple and Trustworthy Onboarding

I kept onboarding predictable and easy to complete, reducing cognitive load for first-time digital users.

C. Insurance and Finance Management

D. Vehicle Upload and Sell Flow

Selling a car required guided steps, structured fields, and simple instructions.

Predictable input patterns
