Pleasure launched into the California cannabis market with one goal: to position premium cannabis as a sophisticated lifestyle product, not a commodity. The result is a cannabis brand identity and packaging system built to stand out on dispensary shelves across California.
The brand is the vision of Austin Escobar, a founder with a rare combination of market instincts and genuine taste. Austin came in knowing exactly where the cannabis industry was failing aesthetically and precisely where Pleasure needed to sit in the market. Working with a founder who thinks at that level made every creative decision sharper and faster. The result is a premium cannabis brand that looks exactly like what he envisioned, executed to a standard the category rarely sees.
The cannabis packaging design landscape in California is crowded. Most brands lean hard into green leaf imagery, street culture aesthetics, or clinical minimalism. Austin and I agreed from day one that Pleasure needed to occupy a completely different space, elevated, sensory, and unapologetically intentional. A cannabis brand identity designed for consumers who treat their purchases like lifestyle decisions.
Working directly with Austin, I led the full cannabis brand identity and packaging design system from concept through launch-ready deliverables. Every visual decision was made against one filter: does this belong on a high-end retail shelf?
What I built:
Cannabis Brand Identity System Logo, typography, color system, and graphic language built for a premium California cannabis brand. The visual direction drew from luxury consumer goods, with a palette and typographic treatment that communicated restraint and quality over noise. Designed to perform across digital, print, and retail environments.
Cannabis Packaging Design Labels, containers, and outer packaging designed for the California cannabis retail environment. Built around state compliance requirements without letting those constraints drive the aesthetic. The packaging works legally and looks premium simultaneously, which is harder to pull off than most cannabis brands make it look.
3D Product Mockups Full product line rendered in Blender before physical production. This gave Austin and the team a complete picture of how the cannabis packaging design would live across SKUs in the real world before a single dollar went to manufacturing.
Pleasure launched in California in late 2023 with a brand identity and packaging system that positions it firmly in the premium cannabis segment. Every deliverable was production-ready and handed off within the two-week engagement window.
