E-commerce UX Audit: Reducing Bounce Rate for a 2,500+ Product Music Store
The Challenge: The client had a high-traffic WooCommerce store with a massive catalog of over 2,500 products. Despite the traffic, sales remained low. After conducting a Google Analytics audit, I identified the core issue: to find what they were looking for, users had to endlessly scroll through pagination. They were manually searching page after page, losing patience, and leaving the site without visiting a single product page.
My Proposal: To solve this "search fatigue," I implemented a strategic advanced filtering system.
Data Analysis: I used Google Analytics to track user flow and pinpoint exactly where customers were dropping off within the online store.
Smart Filtering: I created custom filters for categories, genres, and formats, allowing users to find exactly what they needed in seconds.
The New UX Redesign: This improved the navigational flow, guiding users directly from category pages to specific product pages.
The Results: The impact was visible within days via Google Analytics:
Reduced Bounce Rate: Significantly decreased the number of users leaving the site prematurely.
Increased Engagement: The average time spent on product pages grew substantially.
Path to Conversion: Users stopped aimlessly browsing pages and started interacting with actual products, leading to a more effective sales funnel.
Overall, these changes stopped customers from wandering through the store and leaving frustrated, while bringing my client a stream of new, satisfied customers.
