Project Description

Thelima is a seamless dispatch and delivery service designed to simplify the way errands are sent, picked up, and managed. Tailored for convenience and reliability, Thelima connects users and drivers through an intuitive platform to make deliveries effortless.

My Contribution

I contributed to Thelima by designing both the logo and the core app experience. The primary focus of my timeline was on crafting the app design, ensuring a smooth and cohesive experience for all users:
Logo Design: Developed a professional and recognizable logo that aligns with Thelima's vision of simplicity and reliability.
User Flow & UX Design: Designed intuitive user flows for the "users" and "drivers" sections of the app to ensure easy navigation and task completion.
UI Design: Created visually appealing and functional interfaces that maintained a consistent design language across the app.
Landing Page Design: Designed a clean and engaging landing page to showcase the brand and its services effectively.

He chose the right identity

In Q3 of 2023, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Mr. Olawale Moses on designing and conceptualizing an app tailored for the western part of Africa. The app was envisioned as a seamless platform to allow users to send and receive items effortlessly from the comfort of their homes. This service, aptly named “Errands,” was built around three core principles: simplicity, reliability, and efficiency.
To bring this vision to life, the brand needed a distinct identity—a logo that encapsulated the essence of Thelima. To ensure a clear understanding of the brand’s core values, I provided Mr. Olawale with a detailed questionnaire to gather insights into the desired simplicity and functionality of the design. From this foundation, I crafted eight monochromatic logo concepts, deliberately avoiding a color system to maintain focus on the form and essence of the design.
The final logo embodies Thelima’s mission perfectly: simple, effective, and reliable. It serves as a professional and recognizable symbol, reflecting the dependable services the brand offers.

The Logo

The Thelima logo embodies simplicity and purpose, reflecting the core services of the brand. At the heart of the design are two opposing arrows, symbolizing the dual nature of Thelima’s service: "Receive" and "Dispatch." These arrows effectively capture the essence of errands, emphasizing the convenience of sending or receiving items with ease.
The choice of colors—maroon and zen light green—was deliberate and meaningful. Maroon conveys reliability, trust, and action, aligning with the dependable service Thelima offers. Zen light green, on the other hand, represents freshness, growth, and simplicity, resonating with the seamless and user-friendly experience the platform delivers. Together, these colors create a balanced visual identity that reflects the brand's mission to make deliveries effortless.

The User Interface

Thelima’s user interface is designed for simplicity, efficiency, and ease of navigation. From the moment users open the app, they are welcomed by a sleek splash screen, setting the tone for a seamless experience. The intuitive sign-up and sign-in screens ensure a quick and hassle-free onboarding process.

Inside The App

The homepage provides users with a clear view of their balance and quick access to key actions—sending or receiving errands with just a few taps. Users can track their errand history, stay updated with notifications, and manage their profile effortlessly. Every screen is crafted to make running errands feel smooth, fast, and personalized—because Thelima is all about getting things done, your way.

Sending an Errand

Thelima makes sending an errand effortless with a smooth and intuitive process. It begins with entering the recipient’s details, including their full name, phone number, address, and nearest landmark to ensure accuracy. Next, users provide item details, specifying what needs to be delivered.
Once the payment method is selected, Thelima searches for the nearest available driver. As soon as a driver is assigned, users can track the journey in real-time through the in-app map, staying informed every step of the way. Upon completion, users can confirm the delivery and rate their experience—ensuring quality service every time. The same process applies to receiving an item.

The Driver Interface

Thelima’s Driver Interface is designed for efficiency, making it easy for drivers to manage their errands and maximize earnings. The experience starts with a seamless sign-up and login process, leading to a clean and intuitive homepage displaying a live map. Drivers can toggle between online and offline modes, ensuring flexibility in managing their availability.
With dedicated sections for send and pick-up requests, notifications, errand history, and earnings, drivers stay organized and informed. The in-app navigation streamlines deliveries, while the account tab provides access to essential settings and support. Every feature is built to enhance convenience, helping drivers complete errands smoothly while offering reliable service to users.

Onboarding a new Driver

Joining Thelima as a driver is a straightforward process designed for security and efficiency. New drivers start by providing their personal contact details, ensuring seamless communication. Next, they submit essential documents, including a valid driver’s license, vehicle details, and a passport photograph, verifying their identity and eligibility.
Once the documents are reviewed, drivers receive Thelima’s guidelines and terms of service, outlining expectations, safety protocols, and best practices. This ensures every driver is well-prepared to offer reliable service while maintaining high standards. With onboarding complete, drivers are ready to start accepting errands and earning with confidence. Below is a summarized view of onboarding a new driver.

Inside the App

The homepage provides drivers with a clear view of their map location and quick access to other tabs such as Errands, Earnings and Account. Drivers can immediately see notifications for send and pick up request. Drivers also have the choice to stay online and receive requests or go offline to take a break. Every feature is built to enhance convenience, helping drivers complete errands smoothly while offering reliable service to users.
