Turning b-roll into brand magic, one scent at a time 🎬
We worked with Olfactory NYC from October 2025 through January 2026, editing their existing footage into polished, platform-ready video assets for digital ads and web content. Our job wasn't just to clean up the clips, it was to make the visuals actually match the premium, sensory experience their brand promises.
Our biggest challenge was restructuring the footage to follow the logical order of their at-home perfume creation process, while also fixing the technical issues (low contrast, dark exposure, awkward cuts) that were holding the content back.
Olfactory NYC is a fragrance brand that puts the art of perfume-making in your hands. Their at-home creation experience takes you through three steps: starting with the Explorer Box, moving into the Tinkerer Box, and finishing with your own custom 50ml perfume. It's a sensory journey from curiosity to signature scent.
Their mission is to make fine fragrance creation accessible, personal, and fun; turning something that used to feel exclusive into something anyone can experience from their own home.

The trial run
We kicked off in October 2025 with a trial edit on the first three videos. The footage had real potential but needed significant technical work:
Color correction across all clips: brighter exposure, higher contrast, boosted saturation
Removal of awkward or unusable moments that broke the visual flow
Creating shorter, platform-ready clips from longer raw footage
This trial was our chance to show we understood what Olfactory needed, not just technically clean edits, but content that felt as intentional and refined as the product itself.
The full project
After the trial, we moved into the complete footage library. Beyond the technical fixes, the real creative challenge was sequencing. Olfactory's product story follows a specific order (Explorer Box → Tinkerer Box → full 50ml perfume) and clips that ignored this made the experience feel confusing and random.
We reviewed every piece of footage, identified sequences that broke the product narrative, and restructured them, so the progression felt natural. The goal was simple: a viewer should be able to watch any clip and instinctively understand the journey they're being invited into.
By January 2026, we delivered a complete set of polished assets ready for digital ads and web use.
