Streamlining Operations for a Multi-Strategy Asset Manager

DCM Advisors (also known as Dinosaur Capital Management Advisors) is a multi-strategy investment firm serving institutional clients and financial advisors across the U.S. With fewer than 10 employees, the firm relied on lean operations—but faced bottlenecks in its quarterly marketing and reporting cycles. From 2021 to 2024, I served as a key marketing and operations contributor, helping modernize their digital infrastructure, automate quarterly reporting, and accelerate sales enablement.

It All Started with a Backlog of Fact Sheets

When I joined, DCM’s marketing materials—including pitch books, fact sheets, and website data—were built through a highly manual process:
Data was collected from multiple sources (e.g., Bloomberg, SS&C Advent, Ultimus Fund Solutions)
Sheets were printed, annotated by hand, scanned, and emailed to a designer
Updates required Adobe Illustrator, multiple email chains, and often took 4+ weeks
I stepped in and overhauled the process from the ground up. Within three months, we collapsed a fragmented, multi-person pipeline into a single-source-of-truth system—all maintained in-house, with zero code.

A Full Suite of Optimizations

✔ Fact sheets, pitch books, and website updates from one database
I built a centralized data layer in Google Sheets, which served as the core data source for quarterly fund performance. That data powered:
Google Slides-based pitch books
Fact sheets with live-linked tables & charts
Website visualizations powered by Datawrapper
✔ Reduced turnaround time by 75%
With the new process, we went from a 1-month+ delay on quarterly materials to a 5–10 day turnaround, allowing the sales team (Vision4 Fund Distributors) to move faster with fresh, compliant materials.
✔ Designed and launched a new Webflow website
Initially working with a design agency, I later took full ownership of DCM’s web presence, eliminating agency costs and building all updates in-house with Webflow.
