Professional Experience: Driving Sustainable Transport Innovatio

As the founding Product Designer at Bonnet (2021–2022), I played a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of an app that revolutionised EV charging accessibility. Tasked with creating user-friendly, innovative solutions, I focused on simplifying the process of finding and using EV charging points. My contributions spanned user-centred design, collaborative development, product growth, and user engagement, all aimed at promoting sustainable transport.

I prioritised accessibility and ease of use, designing interfaces that catered to the diverse needs of EV drivers. By simplifying the process of locating and using charging points, I enhanced user satisfaction and made sustainable transport more accessible to the public.

I led the design of cutting-edge solutions that connected users with the best charging networks. By integrating advanced technology, we ensured Bonnet remained a leader in the EV space while improving user experience.

Working closely with developers and stakeholders, I implemented new features and refined existing ones. This cross-functional collaboration was key to continuously improving the app’s functionality and meeting user needs.

I helped scale Bonnet’s network to include over 200,000 chargers by fostering partnerships with major organisations like TfL and energy providers. This expansion significantly increased the app’s utility for EV drivers.

I championed gamification and surveys to gather user feedback while providing live in-app support to resolve issues quickly. These efforts improved customer satisfaction and informed future developments.

Beyond design, I established design systems, sprint planning processes, product management workflows, and team practices. These foundations were crucial for Bonnet’s growth and operational efficiency.

Recognising the importance of user feedback, I championed the use of gamification and surveys within the app. This innovative approach encouraged user engagement, allowing us to gather insights and drive app improvements based on real user needs. This strategy set us apart from competitors and underscored our commitment to building an app driven by user feedback, not just stakeholder interests.

Under my leadership, Bonnet grew from a fledgling startup to a key player in the EV charging industry. My work introduced essential features like route planning, payment methods, and third-party integrations, driving exponential growth and enhancing user experience.

My time at Bonnet was defined by innovation, collaboration, and impact. By focusing on user needs and leveraging technology creatively, I contributed to making sustainable transport more accessible while helping Bonnet grow into a leading force in the EV revolution.
