SecureSimpli: security that feels like progress

SecureSimpli stores life's most important documents: IDs, legal papers, financial records. People only upload a passport to a site they trust, and mandatory two-step verification adds friction. I designed the flow from sign-up to vault so every security step feels like progress. Live at securesimpli.com.
Project 003 · Overview: I designed the flow from sign-up to vault and the visual system, with Natalia Valenzuela.
The challenge: mandatory MFA adds friction, so the flow had to earn trust fast and get the first document in.
My four rules: security as progress, a place for every file, structure from day one, no dead ends.
Onboarding: I kept the 3 steps visible on every screen, so each one feels like progress.
Mandatory MFA: I framed verification as a step with a reason and two simple choices, not a wall.
First upload by category with a progress bar; the plan screen then leads with what people just secured.
The Vault: I added a secure section to the dashboard, with six locked category folders and a clear banner.
Upload modal: every file picks a category and subfolder first, with a breadcrumb, so nothing gets lost.
Error states: each one says what happened and gives one action, on desktop and mobile.
