Project Type: Mobile Application Industry: Vehicle Tracking / IoT Solutions Target Audience: Businesses and individuals managing multiple vehicles through trackers (wired and autonomous) with an emphasis on real-time location and status.

Problem and Project Goal

The goal of My Smart Objects was to design a mobile application that allows users to track and manage vehicle statuses in real-time while displaying complex information intuitively. The app required seamless interaction with features like map visualizations, vehicle tracking, geofences, alerts, and historical trips.

Key challenge: Displaying large amounts of vehicle data and functionalities (e.g., tracking, alerts, commands) in a clean, user-friendly format without overwhelming the user.

Our Role in the Project

The Nexa Design Agency team was responsible for delivering high-quality UI/UX designs for the My Smart Objects mobile app. Our focus included:

Streamlining the user experience with intuitive navigation and a clear hierarchy of features.

Designing a dynamic Map View that integrates vehicle statuses, icons, geofences, and alerts.

Providing user-friendly interactions for managing vehicles, viewing historical trips, and handling real-time commands.

Ensuring a clean, consistent visual style across the app with reusable components for future scalability.

Process

Research and Wireframing:

Analyzed the project requirements and current industry standards for vehicle tracking apps.

Developed wireframes for critical features: Map View, Alerts, Geofences, and Historical Trip Playback.

UI/UX Design:

Created high-fidelity designs for:

Main Map Page: Displaying vehicles with color-coded statuses (moving, idle, stopped, inactive).

Vehicle Information: Immediate status and tracker data (e.g., GPS type, last communication).

Alerts Management: Real-time alert viewing, filtering, and actions like “Mark as Read” or “View on Map.”

Geofence Management: Creating, editing, and assigning vehicles to geofences with user-friendly workflows.

Trip History Page: Visual playback of trips with metrics like distance, duration, and speed.

Designed bottom navigation with clear tabs: Map, Alerts, Vehicle List, and Account Settings.

Tools & Technologies

Figma – High-fidelity UI/UX design, wireframing, and prototyping.

Miro – Initial brainstorming and user flow planning.

Results

We delivered a visually appealing and functional mobile app design that:

Displays real-time tracking with dynamic icons and clear vehicle statuses.

Streamlines complex tasks like managing geofences, viewing historical trips, and handling alerts.

Offers scalable navigation for users to access vehicle, tracker, and alert information intuitively.

Ensures a consistent and clean user experience for businesses managing multiple vehicles.

The final deliverables included a Figma file with a comprehensive design system: color schemes, reusable components, and responsive layouts, ensuring seamless developer handoff.
