Problem and Project Goal

SteelSeries, a leading brand in gaming peripherals, required new scalable website blocks and an improved design system to ensure consistency, usability, and future growth. The challenge was to create a flexible and user-friendly design system that could be easily adopted and scaled within a large organization like SteelSeries.

The goal:

Enhance the website with new, well-designed blocks.

Develop a comprehensive design system that simplifies the workflow for the team and ensures visual consistency across all elements.

Our Role in the Project

As a UI/UX designer, I was responsible for:

Developing a design system: Created a scalable system that included components, color schemes, typography, and reusable design patterns.

Designing new website blocks: Delivered high-quality, user-friendly blocks to improve the structure and presentation of the SteelSeries website.

Ensuring that the system could be easily maintained and scaled, aligning with the company’s brand identity and long-term needs.

Process

Research and Analysis:

Reviewed the existing SteelSeries website to identify areas for improvement.

Focused on consistency, usability, and scalability as core pillars for the new design system.

Design System Development:

Built a comprehensive Figma-based design system that included reusable components such as buttons, headers, forms, grids, and typography guidelines.

Ensured all elements were optimized for scalability and ease of use.

Website Block Design:

Created new modular blocks for the website, improving content presentation and visual hierarchy.

Ensured the blocks integrated seamlessly into the design system for future flexibility.

Testing and Refinement:

Iterated on the designs to ensure usability, clarity, and alignment with the SteelSeries brand standards.
