My Twitter bot "Build-A-Bear Bot" was created by me to tweet out a random Build-A-Bear stuffed animal every hour in an attempt to broaden my knowledge of CSS as well as social media management in order to grow the account over a large reach of the online audience for niche Twitter bots and Build-A-Bear fans. Build-A-Bear has always been an interest of mine, from when I was a young child when my parents first took me, to now when I go with my friends and loved ones. The concept of building your own "furry friend" as your own is such a wholesome concept, and the branding of vintage Build-A-Bear from the 2000s really stuck with me and has served as inspiration for my art even to today.

You can view the "Build-A-Bear Bot" HERE.

The Process

Starting from scratch, I had to start documenting every single Build-A-Bear stuffed animal released from 1997 to the present day in order to populate the Twitter bot with content to send out. This project ties directly to my "Furry Friends Archive" project (individual project page coming soon). I then had to add every single one of the entries into my bots code in order for the account to function properly.

Social Media Presence

I knew from the start I wanted to make the branding for the Twitter page as accessible and friendly as possible in order to attract the widest group of people to the page. I drew from the current Build-A-Bear logo in order to create the icon for the Twitter page, as well as graphics from Build-A-Bear's vintage website from the 2000s for inspiration.
