"Letters To My Friends" | Album Art

The band The Men From Mars had a very specific look in mind for their album cover to "Letters To My Friends": a distinctly retro style cover, and asked specifically for me to heavily include my texture work and detail. As always, my favorite part of the cover is the text, specifically the album title "Letters To My Friends." The subtle printing detail in the text as well as the font made the whole thing really come together and feel really retro.

Surprisingly, creating the back cover for the album was the hardest part of the whole process. Finding a way to coherently show ten song titles in a neat and readable manner, while also fitting the aesthetic of the front cover, was a challenge. It was also the most labor intensive, since I had to re-create the effects of the front text ten times for the song titles.

The band mates had a tough time deciding which photo they liked better for the final cover. The images were shot by my good friend Gus David Sanchez while the band were recording the album.
