Mobile overhaul of an AI powerlifting app

Overview

JuggernautAI is the category-leading AI powerlifting app — it writes and adapts each lifter's program week to week. I partner with the team on an ongoing mobile overhaul: reworking the core workout experience and shipping new features on a progressive roadmap built for engagement and long-term retention.

The challenge

A serious training app has to hold committed lifters for months and years, not days. The core loop — see your program, check in, log every set — had to feel fast and motivating on iOS while surfacing the intelligence underneath (readiness, autoregulation, progressive overload) without overwhelming a lifter mid-workout.

Approach

Reworked the core workout loop end to end — program overview, day selection, and in-workout set logging — so the most-used screens are the fastest.
Designed the adaptive readiness check-in that feeds the AI: a quick, tappable 'how are your muscles feeling' flow that adjusts the day's training.
Designed warm-up guidance, plate math, and performance / weight entry so the app does the thinking a lifter would otherwise do between sets.
Shipped features on a progressive roadmap aimed squarely at engagement and longevity — the metrics that keep a training app alive.
The guided warm-up, card by card — load each set with plate math done for you, confirm, rate how it moved, then start working

The solution

A cleaner, faster iOS training experience with the intelligence made visible where it helps and invisible where it doesn't. A program dashboard that shows the whole block at a glance — phases, weekly volume, day-by-day progress — a readiness check-in that tunes each session, and an in-workout logging flow tight enough to use between heavy sets, with warm-ups, RPE targets, plate math, and set history all one tap away. Delivered as an ongoing partnership on the app's design language and feature roadmap.
Weight entry that adapts to the lift — a barbell plate selector, bodyweight with assistance, or resistance bands, in one control
