My Role

Oversee the project and guide the team in creating wireframes and mockups, working in close collaboration with the product team to determine the most effective solution.

Problem

Our process of sharing advertising deal IDs with clients through PDFs proved inefficient and time-consuming. Creating and updating these PDFs required significant manual effort, and clients often had to request the latest versions, leading to delays and repeated communication. This approach hindered both our team’s productivity and our clients’ ability to access up-to-date information quickly and seamlessly.

Solution

As a team, we collaborated to transform our PDF solution into a comprehensive web page, enabling users to easily navigate through various filters and options, add items to their cart, submit a quote request for a custom deal ID and allow us to update deal IDs without redesigning pdfs several times. This streamlined process eliminates the need for back-and-forth emails and reduces response times, allowing clients to receive information and submit requests instantly, without waiting several business days for a response.

Components

QA and A/B testing

While QA'ing this flow, we noticed a lot of tiny areas along the way that needed slight adjustments to improve user experience and reduce the learning curve for the end user. We also have been A/B testing different concepts and ideas with the team to further improve the overall structure and button placements and learn more about how our clients are reacting to them. Improving the flow and design never ended on going live, it still remains a top priority.

Insights I took from this project

Simplicity is key. We went with several approaches to tackle the problems we were facing but we found that most of them required the user to go through a longer learning curve. And that is why we approached the solution in a way that made it easy for us to go live and the introduction of new systems easy for the users. ‍ Problems are way easier to solve with a good team. I believe a smart brain can think of great ideas, but a couple smart brains can break those ideas down into tiny pieces, find problems within them and fix those too. That is why I relay a lot on my team to give me constructive feedback and their side of the story to enable me to make better decisions.
