The Company

Zymoscope is an early-stage startup transforming the food and beverage industry with its innovative fermentation monitoring system. Combining hardware and software, their solution allows brewers to track critical fermentation parameters in real time, remotely and on any device, eliminating the need for constant lab presence.

The Challenge

Zymoscope needed a cohesive brand identity capable of expressing its scientific foundation while remaining modern, approachable, and versatile across both marketing and product touchpoints. The goal was to translate complex biochemical processes into a clear, intuitive visual language that could resonate with researchers, customers, and partners alike.
The key challenges I faced included:
✅ Turning abstract scientific concepts (fermentation, data, monitoring) into a simple, recognisable identity ✅ Building a flexible visual system scalable across different contexts and formats ✅ Aligning strategy, visual identity, and communication into a unified experience ✅ Designing a landing page that told the product story clearly, engagingly, and with originality

1. Brand Strategy & Visual Identity: From Insight to System

The project began with a remote strategic workshop with the founders to understand their vision, values, and long-term goals. This discovery phase shaped both the creative direction and the strategic foundation of the brand.
💡 Key Improvements: ✔ A visual framework based on keywords such as fermentation, research, data, liquids, science ✔ A logo concept rooted in data collection within monitored liquids, combining fluid shapes with precise geometric elements ✔ A complete and versatile visual system: color palette, typescale, layout rules, iconography, micro-illustrations, and art direction ✔ A comprehensive style guide delivered in Figma as both an editable file and a PDF
This solution established a distinct, modern, and credible identity that translates complex scientific processes into a clear and accessible brand language.
The final design reflects the idea of data collection within monitored liquids: abstract, fluid forms suggest the dynamic movement of fermentation, while structured geometric elements evoke precision and analytical rigor. This approach creates a visual metaphor for Zymoscope’s core promise, turning complex biochemical processes into actionable insights through technology, while maintaining a clean, modern, and approachable identity. Everything was consolidated into a comprehensive Figma style guide, delivered both as an editable Figma file and as a PDF document.

2. Landing Page: A Clear Story and an Engaging First Impression

To introduce the brand, I designed Zymoscope’s landing page by defining its structure, content flow, and communication pillars. The goal was to build a seamless narrative that reflects the brand’s purpose and clarifies the value of its technology.
💡 Key Improvements: ✔ A narrative-driven page architecture: problem → technology → value → outcome ✔ Pixel-perfect design across desktop, tablet, and mobile ✔ Custom icons and micro-illustrations crafted to ensure visual consistency ✔ Art direction for the main illustrations and copywriting produced by external collaborators ✔ An immersive hero section showing the inside of a fermentation tank, featuring interactive 3D WebGL bubbles users can move and rotate
This creative approach earned the site an award on CSS Winner for originality and visual innovation.

A Strong, Cohesive Brand Experience

After the launch of the new brand, Zymoscope achieved:
✅ A clear, scalable, and recognisable identity aligned with its scientific mission ✅ A visual system that works consistently across marketing and product environments ✅ A landing page capable of communicating complex technology in an intuitive and engaging way ✅ A stronger, more authoritative presence that supports the brand’s growth

Mobile App

I created the App Store visual assets, ensuring that the screenshots, mockups, and supporting graphics remained fully consistent with the brand identity.
