Previous hiring process

Create a job post on Indeed
Send an invite to all the candidates to meet at a coffee shop for a group interview with the CEO of the company
Do a working interview at one of the locations
Initiate the training process

Pros

People who show up are usually more likely to be serious about the job.

Cons

The company has to invest more money as it buys a complimentary drink for each candidate for the group interview
There are weeks when no one shows up to the interview, except for the CEO
People who only showed up for the free drink but were not serious about the job
A lot of time was invested by the CEO, going to the location and waiting for people to show

New hiring process

Create a job post on Indeed
Send a message to the candidates with a link from Calendly for them to schedule a working interview with us
Conduct a virtual interview once a week through Zoom
Use Google Sheets to write down their answers, and score their performance in the interview, based on the core values of the company
Invite the passing candidates to a 1:1 conversation with the CEO
Invite the candidate to a working interview
Initiate the training process

Results

Cost reduction, since the company no longer had to invest in drinks or transportation for the group interview
An increase in the hiring rate
More available time for the CEO
A more cost-efficient process
