Shortlet is a platform that connects property hosts with customers seeking short-term rental accommodations. The platform caters to customers looking for flexible stays and hosts managing multiple properties. The client hired me to design the both Customer Mobile App for users to browse and book properties seamlessly and the Host Mobile App to help property owners manage listings, bookings, and communications effectively.

Customers often face difficulties finding and booking short-term rental accommodations due to poor user experiences, unclear property details, and limited booking options.

Similarly, hosts struggle to manage their listings, handle customer inquiries, and track bookings on existing platforms.

Shortlet needed an intuitive and robust mobile solution for both customers and hosts to address these pain points and enhance user satisfaction.

Additionally, Shortlet required a unified brand identity and an online presence to attract and retain users while enhancing platform credibility.

As the lead designer on this project, I was responsible for the end-to-end design process, including conducting user research to understand the needs of both customers and hosts, validating research findings, and documenting solutions. I created high-quality UI designs for the customer and host mobile apps, developed a cohesive brand and visual identity, and designed a responsive website. Additionally, I collaborated closely with the client to ensure that the designs aligned with both business objectives and user goals, delivering a seamless and engaging experience across all platforms.

The solution encompassed designing intuitive mobile apps for customers and hosts, each tailored to their specific needs, alongside establishing a cohesive brand identity and developing a responsive website. The Customer Mobile App simplified property browsing, booking, and communication.

The newly designed Shortlet platform established a strong foundation for the business, providing a seamless experience for both customers and hosts. For customers, the intuitive app made property browsing, booking, and communication effortless, while hosts gained tools to efficiently manage listings, track bookings, and engage with users. The cohesive brand identity and responsive website enhanced credibility and trust, helping to attract early adopters. This end-to-end design enabled Shortlet to launch as a polished, user-friendly product, positioning it as a reliable and competitive player in the short-term rental market.
