Case Study: Squarespace Website for CHEVS.org

CHEVS is a vital non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the rights, health, and dignity of marginalized LGBTQ+ communities in West Africa. After a major rebrand, their old WordPress website no longer reflected their mission or served their operational needs, hindering their advocacy and fundraising efforts.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was to migrate CHEVS from a clunky WordPress site to a modern, secure, and easy-to-manage platform. The project required more than just a technical migration; it was an opportunity to launch a completely new digital identity that aligned with their recent rebrand. The new website needed to be a powerful tool to:
Communicate their critical advocacy work with clarity and passion.
Drive fundraising efforts to support their programs.
Showcase current drives, news, and updates effectively.
Amplify the personal stories of the people they support.
Be easily updatable by their non-technical team members.

The Solution

I managed a comprehensive WordPress-to-Squarespace migration, taking the opportunity to completely reimagine their online presence. We built a new website from the ground up that is not only visually compelling but also strategically structured to meet their core objectives.

A Full Design & Copy Overhaul: I implemented a clean, professional design that reflects their new branding. The website copy was rewritten to be more impactful, clearly articulating their mission and the importance of their work.
Strategic Fundraising Tools: We integrated clear "Donate" buttons and built dedicated pages that explain how contributions directly support their advocacy, making it easy for supporters to contribute to their cause. ❤️
A "Stories" Hub: We created a dedicated section to share the powerful, human stories of the individuals they help, fostering a deeper connection with their audience and highlighting the real-world impact of their work.
Dynamic "Updates" Section: A new, easy-to-use blog/news section allows the CHEVS team to effortlessly post updates on their latest drives, campaigns, and advocacy wins.
Intuitive Squarespace Backend: By moving to Squarespace, the CHEVS team is now empowered to manage and update their own site without needing technical expertise, saving them valuable time and resources.
