Problem: We surveyed some customers, and one thing that kind of bothered people was that going on a trip or excursion can be a difficult and tedious process. Especially when people are going on a trip to a place they have never been to or an expedition for the first time.

Solution: The Active Gear app simplifies finding what a person needs for a specific type of trip. The app will ask about the date and location of the trip, the climate region, duration of the trip, activities on the trip, and the future likelihood of repeat trips of a similar nature. Based on that data, Active Gear will make recommendations of apparel and gear for their trip! From those results, the users can save the items for a specific trip, put items in a cart, and purchase from their phone. They can ship the items to their address or pick them up at their nearest North Face retailer.

This was a project that showed that users can have fun, interesting, and informative experiences while shopping for items that could make or break a trip. There is flexibility for novices and expert-level adventurers. All while making sales for The Nortface.
