Splufix - designing a product credible enough to raise on

Who this is for:

Pre-seed and seed founders who need a product that holds up in an investor room and in production, without paying for those twice.
The situation
Two founders with deep HR expertise entering a crowded category dominated by expensive, dated incumbents. Looking credible was not enough, in a category that mature, a new entrant has to look like the obvious replacement. And whatever went in the deck had to be buildable, because the money raised on those screens would be spent building them.
What I actually did
Designed the full platform: performance reviews, goal tracking, one-on-one workflows, continuous feedback and development planning.
Held one constraint throughout - every screen had to work in a pitch deck and survive contact with engineering. No hero screens that could not be built. This is the trap most fundraise-driven design falls into and it is expensive six months later.
Designed the review cycle around the actual failure mode of performance software: managers not completing it. Reduced the per-manager effort dramatically and made progress visible to the people who chase it.
Worked with the founders on narrative sequencing - which screens tell the story in which order - so the product carried the room rather than the founders having to explain it.
How I worked
Three months, working directly with both founders. Weekly sessions, rapid iteration against real investor feedback between rounds of meetings. Deliverables included both the production design system and the investor-ready screen sequence.
What the client reported afterwards
Figures reported by the Splufix founding team.
$500K pre-seed round closed, with the design featured directly in the investor deck
Beta users reported roughly 65% less time spent on performance reviews
Product-market fit signal validated pre-launch
Stack:
Figma
HR workflow design
Investor narrative design
Similar engagement today
Design partner for a pre-seed or seed founder raising on product. Typically 4–8 weeks: core product design, design system, and an investor-ready screen narrative that is also buildable.
Typical investment: $4,000 – $8,000. Investor-facing screen sequence only: $2,500.
