Global Payment and Remittance Application

HelloMe Money is a digital financial platform that offers borderless money transfer and payments for both individuals and businesses. It enables users to open multi‑currency accounts, send and receive money across borders, and manage global finances without traditional bank barriers, with real‑time balance tracking and secure transactions. For individuals, you can send money internationally, pay bills, and shop online, while businesses can access multi‑currency accounts, receive payments globally, and automate payouts to teams. A key part of the service is cross‑border transfers and remittances, allowing users to move money between regions like Africa, Europe, the UK, and Asia, often with competitive exchange rates and transparent fees compared with traditional banking.

I designed the web applications for both personal and business users, enhancing the onboarding experience across desktop and mobile platforms. I also created a comprehensive design system, including typography, color styles, input fields, and reusable components, ensuring a consistent, scalable, and developer-ready interface across all touchpoints.

HelloMeMoney serves both individuals and businesses managing money across multiple regions, including the UK (main focus) Africa, Europe, and Asia. The core challenge was designing web applications that could handle complex financial workflows—such as multi-currency balances, cross-border transfers, and onboarding—while still feeling simple, secure, and easy to use. Additionally, the product required two distinct experiences (personal and business) under one brand. Each needed to address different user needs without sacrificing consistency, clarity, or scalability across web and mobile platforms.

Design an intuitive and user friendly platform that allows users to:

Send money and make payments both locally and internationally

Complete payments or transfers via payment links or username

Manage wallets in multiple currencies and convert easily

Ensure end-to-end transaction process is secured and risk-free with a robust breakdown of all transaction activities.

This module groups transactions into 3 categories - Local, International and Conversion. This way users can manage everything in one place without getting confused.

The Business Account includes all the features of the Personal Account, with added capabilities designed to support growing businesses:

Higher transaction limits Increased sending and payment limits to support larger and more frequent business transactions.

Business-ready onboarding & compliance Additional documentation enables accurate business profiling, regulatory compliance, and secure account usage.

Integrated invoicing Create, send, and manage invoices directly within the platform, with payments received seamlessly into the business account.

Financial visibility & insights Graphical dashboards provide clear, real-time views of balances, cash flow, and transaction history.

Advanced payment management Tools to manage beneficiaries, conversions, and corporate payments from a single dashboard.

Virtual Office (coming soon) A centralized workspace designed to streamline operations and support smoother day-to-day business management.

Many small businesses struggle with invoicing because existing tools are too complex, disconnected from their payment accounts, and time-consuming to reuse—leading to delayed payments, poor visibility, and fragmented workflows.

I designed an in-app invoicing system fully integrated with the business account, enabling faster, clearer, and repeatable invoicing through a centralized dashboard, clear status tracking, and a streamlined “New Invoice” flow that reduces friction and errors.

The invoice creation experience was designed for speed and clarity, with a simple, well-structured form that groups key details such as customer information, dates, currency, and line items. Automatic calculations for totals and VAT reduce manual effort, while attachments and notes add flexibility for different billing needs.

To improve usability and consistency, I designed three invoice templates that allow businesses to choose formats suited to their brand or use case. This enables faster invoice creation, supports recurring billing scenarios, and ensures invoices remain professional and consistent over time.

Design decisions focused on minimizing cognitive load by showing only essential fields upfront, providing clear status indicators for paid, pending, and failed invoices, and integrating invoices directly with account balances and transaction history. As a result, businesses can get paid faster, maintain clearer cash-flow visibility, reduce reliance on third-party tools, and manage billing and payments from a single platform.

Working on the Global Remittance project at HelloMeMoney helped me grow as a product designer by exposing me to the complexity of cross-border financial systems. Collaborating closely with product managers and engineers, I learned how to simplify complex, compliance-heavy flows into clear, user-friendly experiences while balancing business, technical, and user needs.
