I worked with the Amazon team to design an interactive map for their bestselling books, I knew I wanted to create something both engaging and seamlessly integrable. I designed an interactive experience that would naturally draw users into exploring bestsellers across different states, whether checking their own state's top reads or discovering what's popular across the country. The design challenge was creating something that felt native to Amazon's ecosystem while being distinctive enough to capture attention.
I focused on a clean, minimalist interface with a dark-themed map that makes the interactive elements pop. I carefully considered the user journey, implementing an intuitive dropdown for state selection and designing book preview cards that provide just enough information to spark interest. The mobile experience was particularly crucial - I redesigned the interface to maintain the same level of engagement while optimizing for touch interactions and smaller screens. The result was a highly interactive feature that Amazon could flexibly embed across their platform.
