Responsive Web App Design: AI-Powered Career Advisory

Challenge
My Career Dreams had a working AI chatbot. Students used it, but then left.
No way to revisit results. No progress to track. No way to share outcomes with parents or teachers.
The brief was: improve the chatbot UI.
I reframed it: the product needed an advisory journey built around the chat, not just a better-looking chat UI.

My role
End-to-end product design: strategy, research, IA, visual design, and dev-ready handoff.
I also redefined the problem scope early, shifting the product direction from a UI improvement into a system-level experience redesign.

The users
Students aged 15–20, across international markets, mostly on mobile, in short sessions.
Many are navigating real family pressure around career choices. High emotional stakes, low patience for friction.

What I built
Responsive dashboard: a central home to track progress and revisit results
Structured chat: same familiar feel, now with visible steps and forward momentum
Shareable reports and certificates: so outcomes could reach parents, teachers, and advisors
Emotional design layer: encouraging microcopy, reduced clutter, progress indicators that motivate
Admin Dashboard for teachers and institute administrators
Screensots of key screens
Key decisions worth knowing
I kept the chatbot. Users trusted it. I designed a dashboard that wraps around it rather than replacing something that already worked.
I avoided aggressive scoring. For anxious students, being labeled too early does more harm than good. The app opens possibilities for them; my designs reflected that.
Due to limited budget for formal research, I used a proto-persona grounded in focus group feedback to align the team around emotional context and device constraints
