Referral programs serve as powerful tools for businesses, creating a symbiotic relationship between existing users and potential new ones. They foster a sense of community by encouraging customers to become active participants in the brand's growth. Moreover, by offering rewards for referrals, these programs attract new users, thereby expanding the customer base and driving business growth
Here is how I built Contra's initial referral program!

Process

Creating Contra's referral program involved strategic use of various platforms:
Slack: We engaged with our community on Slack to motivate them to post and participate in the referral program. Regular updates, reminders, and incentives were shared through our Slack channels.
Sanity: This powerful content management system was used to build dynamic, personalized referral pages that offered a seamless user experience, thereby simplifying the referral process for each referrer.
Looker: To track the performance of the referral links, we implemented Looker. Its robust analytics capabilities helped us monitor various metrics, such as click-through rates and conversions, enabling us to measure the program's effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
Together, these tools helped establish a robust, interactive, and measurable referral program for Contra, effectively driving user engagement and expanding our reach.
