STARTING POINT
A clothing stylist, required Instagram Story templates.
Constraints: The templates needed to take up the full dimensions allowed for Stories, but also stay aligned with the profile photo, profile name and comment elements at the top and bottom of the screen. Critical content should not be located in the areas covered by those elements.
The design needed to fit a bold awakened brand aesthetic with swooping lines and organic elements.
Opportunities: The graphics would convey the brand message of incorporating style into every part of your life. Audience interests included fashion, personal care and personal improvement. With a mix of familiar design references and fresh approaches, the graphics would develop the ideas of exploring new things and living your identity.
RESULTS
The Instagram Story templates drew on stock photography and brand guidelines to present polished, editable visuals. The templates are a jumping off point for future designs, incorporating content areas like "quote, "team intro," "before/after" (indicating to tap through to the next Story) and "client showcase."

- Templates built over a custom Instagram Story grid to ensure seamless placement with the profile photo, profile name, comment box, etc.
- Articulation of a design language including organic, curving shapes; shading; mesh gradients; and pill boxes to be used for highlighting key words
- Variety of font styles for callouts, captions, headers and body
- Filters over photographs to give a consistent look, no matter the source or lighting of the original photo
