Project Overview:
Worked with a previous client to create a website for their sister-product, Wishlst, a gifting collection web-platform that enables users to receive contributions seamlessly, from anywhere in the world.
Challenge:
The previous website required a complete overhaul. A visual feel that would resonate with every audience that visits the page. One major challenge was expanding the new website, as the previous one was a landing page with only three sections. This means the content was limited, and I had little to pull from.
My Design Approach:
My approach was simple and user-focused. I began by scheduling a call with the client and giving him the space to fully articulate his vision and expectations for the product. This conversation helped me align design decisions with both business goals and user needs.
During this phase, we focused on answering key questions such as:
How should users feel when interacting with Wishlst?
What type of content should be immediately visible and prioritised?
What problems are current users trying to solve?
What are the most frequently asked questions users need answers to?
Key Design Considerations:
Based on the discovery session, I designed Wishlst with the following priorities in mind:
Simplicity and clarity: Ensuring users can create and manage wishlists without friction.
Universal flexibility: Allowing users to add items from any store or source, not limited to a single marketplace.
Easy sharing: Making it effortless for users to share wishlists via links or social platforms.
Content hierarchy: Clearly communicating the platform’s value proposition above the fold.
Trust and usability: Designing a clean, approachable interface that encourages users to create an account.
Result:
The final design delivers a streamlined, user-friendly wishlist experience that balances functionality with clarity. It effectively communicates the purpose of Wishlst to new users while providing returning users with an intuitive way to organise and share their wishes.
