Medical Study Review & Communications Platform for Lupus Patients
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Smart Support for Chronic Illness
The Progentec team approached us back in 2019 to design a new medical app that would allow their medical staff to communicate with users of their existing patient app.
This app is specifically designed for people living with Lupus. Users can track symptoms and flares, and communicate with medical professionals via chat or video calls. They can also complete quizzes and monitor tracking data, which is stored within the app and integrated with a Withings smartwatch.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
❌ Closing the Communication Gap in Lupus Care
Patients with Lupus face ongoing challenges in managing symptoms, tracking flare-ups, and staying connected with healthcare providers. Progentec identified a need for a user-friendly platform that integrates symptom tracking, wearable data, and direct communication with clinicians. Without such a system, both patients and providers struggled with continuity of care and timely support.
SOLUTION
Easy Onboarding & Setup
Admins or Trainers can set up Practis Sets, which contain Scenarios & Challenges. These are predefined scripts that help employees train on pertinent company content delivery methods and ways of handling problems in accordance with a pre-defined script.
Communication is Key
Providing an in app communication system for users to interact with a medical professional is something that the Progentec Team was adamant about using in the app as it would provide the most conclusive insight into patient problems.
In App VOiP Calling
We built a simple, mobile-based platform that connects patients and providers through secure VoIP calls, enabling two-way communication, appointment scheduling, and patient progress tracking.
Custom Surveys
We also focused on creating an engaging and user-friendly survey experience, allowing patients to submit valuable data for ongoing medical studies.
CONCLUSION
Bringing the Vision to Life
It’s been a year in the making, as Progentec paused the initial launch from June 2019 to May 2020. In the end, we were able to work closely with their development team and hand off our designs for the finished product.
This was a fun project that challenged us, pushed us to think creatively, and allowed us to deliver a design we’re proud of—along with a user experience that’s been tested and validated with real users.
