HerSafeSpace is a survivor-centered platform designed to combat Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) across West and Central Africa.
The product provides confidential support, secure evidence storage, incident reporting, and access to legal aid through a multi-platform experience (Web & Mobile).
Problem
Survivors of online abuse often face:
Lack of safe and anonymous reporting tools
Difficulty preserving digital evidence securely
Limited access to legal support and guidance
Exposure to further harm while seeking help
Existing solutions were fragmented and not designed with privacy and emotional safety at the core.
Solution
I designed a secure, accessible ecosystem that enables users to chat with Kemi (an AI assistant) for real-time support, report incidents safely and anonymously, store evidence in a PIN-protected encrypted vault, connect with verified lawyers for legal assistance, and access educational resources on digital safety.
Design Approach
I focused on:
Privacy-first design (anonymous usage, encryption cues)
Low cognitive load for users in distress
Clear, guided flows for reporting and support
Offline-friendly experience for low-connectivity regions
