Overview:
ThreadsNest is a new custom apparel brand focused on bold, street-style clothing for a young, trend-conscious audience. Based in a small town in Winnipeg, the brand wanted to establish a strong presence on social media while keeping startup costs low. Their initial launch was focused entirely through Facebook and Instagram, where their store is currently hosted.
My Role:
As the lead designer, I developed the full visual identity for ThreadsNest, including the logo, color palette, social media ads, and promotional sticker designs. My goal was to create a cohesive, energetic brand that would appeal to younger audiences—particularly skaters and fans of urban fashion.
Creative Process:
The design process began with a clear understanding of the target audience. ThreadsNest wanted something fun, vibrant, and instantly recognizable. I created a logo using a bold colour palette:
Sanded Ivory (#F5EBDD) for a soft neutral balance
Bright Orange (#FD5200) to create energy and impact
Charcoal (#2B2B2B) for a strong urban base
To increase the brand’s reach and recognition, I designed the main logo in a sticker format. This not only made it suitable for merchandise but also served as an eye-catching visual for both digital and physical marketing. I also created additional sticker designs tailored to youth culture, with playful layouts and graphic treatments.
The Facebook and Instagram ads followed the same energetic and youthful aesthetic. They were designed to be scroll-stopping—bold colours, minimal text, and a strong visual focus on the custom apparel itself. Since the brand had not yet launched a full website, the focus was on engaging the audience directly through social platforms and driving traffic to their Facebook store.
Results:
The launch helped ThreadsNest build initial buzz in their local community. The stickers and social media content created immediate interest, with the brand gaining visibility and engagement without the need for expensive advertising or a full e-commerce platform at the start.
Problem Solved:
The challenge was to build a strong, youthful brand identity with limited resources. Through strategic design choices and a clear understanding of the target audience, I was able to help ThreadsNest build a recognizable brand, attract early interest, and establish a social media presence aligned with their streetwear vision.
