Problem:

The client had created a proprietary Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Cloud product primarily for internal purposes. Their intention was to commercialize it for public consumption. Nevertheless, uncertainties loomed around the product's market positioning, its performance in public settings, and its reception among the targeted audience of Cloud Infrastructure experts. Furthermore, the client lacked a well-defined go-to-market strategy and a persuasive value proposition for the product.

Action:

I directed key market initiatives, including beta testing the proprietary Cloud IaaS. I worked closely with the client to design and execute a comprehensive beta testing program that would provide invaluable insights into the product's capabilities, market reception, and potential new markets. Throughout the process, I collaborated with internal teams to analyze feedback, uncover new markets and use cases, and refine the product's positioning and value proposition.

Result:

The initiative exceeded the client's goals by shortening the beta test window by four months, uncovering new market opportunities, and providing crucial insights into the product's capabilities. This enabled the client to confidently position their product in the market, craft a compelling value proposition, and develop growth strategies. As a result, the client was able to launch their Cloud IaaS product with a clear understanding of its strengths, target audience, and growth potential.
