Trace Fulvic Black Water was the first black water brand in South Africa, and the client needed a logo that was simple, strong, and able to stand out in a new and unfamiliar category.
After developing the name “TRACE,” I focused on creating a custom typeface with a clean, structured form that would feel confident and distinctive. Rather than overcomplicating the design, the emphasis was on clarity and recognisability, allowing the brand to stand apart in a category often dominated by overdesigned visuals. Special attention was given to the ‘A’ character, introducing a subtle sense of fluidity to balance the solidity of the overall mark and reflect the product itself.
The result is a bold, recognisable identity that establishes a clear presence in a new category and works effectively across packaging and brand applications.
