Playful Loving, founded by Viktoria, is an intimacy and embodiment coaching practice. Her work focuses on emotional connection, personal presence, and relational awareness.
The original logo carried meaningful symbolism, but the visual style had become dated and visually heavy. Metallic effects and dark tones created a closed feeling that no longer reflected the spirit of the brand.
The redesign focused on elegant simplification.
Preserve the symbolic heart-V, representing both love and Viktoria, the founder
Remove heavy metallic styling
Simplify and modernize the mark
Introduce a refined wordmark
Align the logo with the emotional tone of the brand
The goal was not to discard the existing identity, but to evolve it into something lighter, clearer, and more aligned with the nature of Viktoria’s work.
Defining the Brand Personality
Before beginning visual design, the brand personality was explored through a structured discovery process.
Viktoria completed a Brand Archetype questionnaire, designed to uncover the emotional qualities that define the brand. This exercise helps identify the deeper personality behind a business and ensures that the visual identity communicates the right emotional message.
For Playful Loving, the brand emerged as a blend of three archetypes:
Magician — 40%
Transformation, energetic precision, and personal evolution.
Lover — 35%
Embodiment, intimacy, and emotional connection.
Sage — 25%
Presence, wisdom, and trust.
This archetype blend guided the design direction, symbolism, colour choices, and tone of the identity.
Concept Exploration
Several design directions were developed to explore different ways the symbolic heart-V could evolve.
Each option approached the redesign from a slightly different perspective while preserving the emotional core of the brand.
Option 1 — Simplified Classic
This direction remained closest to the original logo structure.
The design preserved the familiar layout and symbolic heart-V form while removing heavy metallic styling and visual clutter.
Cleaner curves and refined proportions created a lighter and more timeless visual expression. The goal was to modernize the logo while maintaining strong continuity with the existing identity.
Option 2 — Expressive Evolution
This concept explored a more contemporary interpretation of the symbol.
The mark moved away from the circular emblem and allowed the heart-V form to stand on its own. Flowing layered shapes introduced a sense of movement, openness, and energy.
The expanded form suggested transformation and growth, reinforcing the emotional themes of Viktoria’s work.
Option 3 — Dual Harmony
This variation explored deeper symbolism.
The heart-V shape separated into two mirrored forms, representing connection between two people. The composition evoked ideas of partnership, reflection, and relational balance.
The structure subtly referenced yin-yang harmony, reinforcing themes of shared transformation and emotional alignment.
Option 4 — Elegant Simplification
This concept moved toward greater refinement.
The heavier curls of the original symbol were reduced, creating cleaner lines and a more contemporary visual rhythm. The mark retained its playful character while gaining clarity and balance.
This option also introduced a styled Playful Loving wordmark, creating a more integrated and polished brand mark.
Option 5 — Togetherness Mark
This direction explored the most minimal version of the symbol.
The heart-V shape was simplified into a clean central mark with two subtle side forms representing connection and togetherness.
The result was calm, balanced, and highly legible across digital and print applications.
Option 6 — Wordmark-First Approach
The final concept explored a bold departure from the symbol-led identity.
The name Playful Loving became the primary visual element. The letter “O” was replaced with a small heart symbol, preserving a reference to the original motif while integrating it into the typography.
An optional golden glow introduced warmth and quiet luminosity behind the wordmark.
Final Logo Direction
After reviewing the concepts, Viktoria selected Option 4 as the foundation for the final logo.
Following her feedback, the design was further refined.
The yin-yang relationship between the two sides was preserved and clarified
The top curl was simplified, removing the decorative wrought-iron character of the original mark
The graduated sheen was refined, creating softer luminosity and depth
Red and gold forms were balanced to express warmth, energy, and presence
The result is a symbol that feels elegant, balanced, and contemporary while remaining emotionally resonant.
The redesigned mark preserves the original heart-V concept, honouring the brand’s history while presenting it in a refined and modern form that aligns with the spirit of Viktoria’s work.
