Realmode is a Lagos fashion label making tailored casualwear: camp shirts, co-ord sets, hand-embellished pieces. WooCommerce already ran their catalogue, orders and inventory, but the storefront looked like every other shop and loaded like it too. The brand needed a front that felt designed, without leaving the system the team already ran.
Motion carries a lot of the brand, and most of it is small and physical. The hero is a WebGL canvas over the featured collection: move your cursor across it and the image distorts with your speed, swelling when you flick and settling when you stop. It makes fabric photography feel like fabric. Headings rise into place character by character, and product tiles and journal cards follow the same system, so the whole site moves with one accent.
The restraint was the actual work. Every animation had to answer one question: does it make the clothes look better, or is it just me showing off? A few nice ones failed that test and got cut.
Underneath, an Astro storefront on Cloudflare Workers sits over headless WooCommerce, with Paystack checkout verified on the server.
A custom storefront with WebGL and small, physical motion that makes fabric photography feel like fabric, on the WooCommerce backend the team already ran.
