πŸš— Cruizo – Seamless Car Rentals On-the-Go

UI/UX Design Case Study by Pelumi Oladayo

πŸ“ Overview

Cruizo is a car rental app designed to simplify urban mobility by connecting users to available rental vehicles within minutes. From casual weekend getaways to business trips, Cruizo ensures convenience, affordability, and control β€” all in a few taps.

🧠 The Problem

Renting a car in many cities, especially for short trips, can be a frustrating experience:
Clunky or outdated websites
Long queues and paperwork at physical offices
Unclear pricing, hidden charges
No real-time availability or nearby options
Limited flexibility in pick-up/drop-off

🎯 Goal

Design an intuitive mobile experience that allows users to search, book, unlock, and drive a rental car within 5 minutes β€” all digitally, with complete transparency.

πŸ‘₯ Target Users

Young professionals looking for weekend mobility
Remote workers traveling between cities
Tourists needing flexibility without local transport hassles
Students sharing cars for group trips

πŸ” UX Research

1. User Interviews

I conducted interviews with 6 potential users across different personas β€” digital nomads, business travelers, and students. Key pain points included:
β€œI hate calling to confirm bookings.”
β€œI want to know exactly what I’m paying for upfront.”
β€œWhy can’t I just use an app like I do with Bolt or Uber?”

2. Competitive Analysis

I studied apps like Turo, Hertz, Getaround, and Zipcar. While these platforms had strong features, many lacked fluid onboarding or real-time car tracking. I saw room for a cleaner, modernized experience.

🧩 Core Features

πŸ”Ž Smart Search: Location-based real-time vehicle availability
πŸ“… Flexible Booking: Hourly, daily, and weekend rental options
πŸ’³ Transparent Payments: No hidden charges, deposit clearly stated
πŸ“ Live GPS Tracking: See available cars nearby
πŸ“± In-App Unlocking: Skip keys β€” unlock with your phone
⭐ Ratings & Reviews: Community feedback for trust
πŸ‘€ Driver Profile & History: See your past rides and documents
