In 2016, I began assisting the US Coast Guard (USCG) in managing their international fleet, helping them implement optimal tools for enforcing Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) regulations. Previously, the USCG had been seeking guidance on utilizing these tools, which were provided by Pole Star ASP. During this time, I contributed to their efforts by taking over and helping with the restoration of their service.
In 2020, I successfully trained and transitioned a new team, ensuring their service was fully operational and in line with established standards before relinquishing the project in November of the same year.
• Reduced workload significantly by responding to queries from UNITED STATES COASTGUARD vessels within an average response time of 24 hours, resulting in a 100% decrease in pending queries.
• Ensured proper adherence to the LRIT certification process, achieving a 100% compliance rate with all relevant laws and regulations established by USA maritime enforcement.
• Facilitated effective communication by translating maritime jargon into easily understandable language for the product team and vice versa, resulting in a 97% reduction in miscommunication errors.
• Organized and successfully executed LRIT tests mandated by regulations and demanded by IMO international law, achieving a 95% pass rate.
• Identified the need for both internal and external modifications to meet USCG demands, resulting in a 63% improvement in compliance with USCG requirements.
• Improved efficiency through team restructuring in Q1, resulting in a 15% reduction in project turnaround time.
