The opportunity

Currently, the experience of sending money via MCB Juice is very functional and unexciting, making it feel like a tedious task.
I analyzed December 2021 transaction list and extracted some purpose patterns on the description for the beneficiary.
Customers are already sending a transaction with the description below:
Caring (I love you, Thank you)
Festival (Christmas)
Gift (birthday, anniversary, wedding)
Donation
Payment (Refund, Netflix, doctor)
Other personal messages

The personas

I interviewed 8 participants using this feature and added the description to their transactions. 2 personas were uncovered from the interview, "The emojis addict" and "The gifter." 

The outcome

The Pay emotions is being used MUR 30M monthly, by making the transaction feel less tedious by adding a touch of fun.
This project was more not only to make a payment but to change how people user transact.
Since 2021, we have worked closely with local artists to create stickers for the community.
