We were brought in to take on an exciting challenge: helping Mark bring his vision for a social trivia app to life. His goal was to create a fast, easy, and fun way for friends to play trivia together in real time. With a solid technical foundation and backend knowledge—thanks to his experience working at one of the big five tech companies—Mark came prepared with key APIs and a clear product direction. He understood that for the app to truly stand out, it needed a seamless user experience and compelling design. He entrusted our team to translate his concept into a dynamic, engaging, and visually polished product.

Mark wanted a social trivia app that was fast, fun, and easy to use, allowing friends to play together in real time. Achieving a smooth, visually appealing design with intuitive navigation and real-time gameplay integration was essential to make the app stand out and keep users coming back.

Beyond just gameplay, the app needed to support ongoing user engagement through features like leaderboards and detailed game stats. Additionally, the challenge included designing the app with future monetization in mind, while navigating a competitive market with numerous trivia and social apps.

We began by carefully designing the core layouts for the primary pages, starting with a homepage that highlights the most important elements for users. This included easy access to current games where users compete with friends, as well as new topics for them to explore—whether to test their knowledge or challenge others.

Next, we enriched the game details page with key metrics like high scores, total plays, and average points, giving users deeper insight into their performance. To further boost engagement, we integrated a dynamic global leaderboard, allowing users to track their progress and see how they stack up against players worldwide.

Overall, this design and development journey has been both enjoyable and rewarding. We are currently in the beta testing phase, actively gathering user feedback to refine and iterate on the app’s design, user flow, and features to ensure the best possible experience.

Although the Quizrd team ultimately decided to pivot before the app’s official launch due to challenges in establishing a sustainable revenue model, we remain excited about its future and look forward to supporting its return when the time comes.
