Produced A Fitness Brand - Branding Design & UI Design

Hamud Dawud

💪🏽 Created a fitness brand for my major project: which contains UI, Packaging, and branding designs. I also presented this project at New Designers

Overview 🔎

For my major project, I wanted to create a fitness brand with the goal of addressing the escalating obesity epidemic in the UK. My primary goals included the development of easy to follow workout plans via a mobile app, I also wanted to create a cheap, healthy and tasty diet subscription plan. Additionally, I aimed to present this project at the New Designers event in London.

Problem 🔬

An obesity crisis is emerging in the UK, with statistics indicating that it affects roughly one in every four adults and approximately one in every five children aged 10 to 11. Consequently, many individuals are experiencing low self-esteem and reduced confidence, both in terms of their physical appearance and their willingness to engage in fitness activities.

Solution

The solution I devised was to create a fitness community called Fitverse. It's a place where people who desire to stay active can discover 'only the finest' of fitness techniques and recipes to maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet.

Ideation 💡

Mood Boarding & Finding Inspiration

My inspiration for Fitverse came from researching established brands in the health and fitness industry, such as HelloFresh and Gymshark, to understand how they promote healthy living. Additionally, I explored various fitness workouts and affordable, popular diet plans like protein oat pancakes to better understand the needs of consumers looking to improve their fitness and nutrition. To keep my creative process on track, I created mood boards that provided ongoing inspiration and quick references as I developed the project.

Wireframe & Product Sketches

During the ideation stage, I created wireframes and product sketches, to quickly generate concepts such as skipping ropes and branding designs. I developed and refined on the most fitting concepts that seamlessly integrated with the brand's overall concept. This process ensured that the final product and wireframe designs not only adhered to the core identity of the fitness brand but also catered to the preferences and needs of the target audience.

I filled a mood board with health and fitness apps from Dribbble and Pinterest to gain insights into the app's layout and style for inspiration.

Development 📈

High Fidelity Designs & Prototyping

Within this stage, I translated my ideation into detailed high fidelity concepts, product sketches, and branding designs, ensuring a clear visual representation of the brands DNA. Through refinement and multiple variations I was able to create the final version of the Fitverse app and began to prototype and test the app with over 15 people contributing to the testing phase.

Animation

I created an animated promotional video for the Fitverse app, showcasing its features and the value it offers to its user community. The video emphasises the app's user friendly interface and the 4 amazing categories it brings. Overall, the animation effectively communicates Fitverse's mission and encourages viewers to join the Fitverse community for a more fulfilling fitness journey.

Photoshop & Physical Products 👨🏽‍💻

To ensure a perfect presentation, I explored different printing methods on cardboard prototypes before finalising its placement surrounding the boxes exterior. I created a subscription box filled with carefully chosen items such as a flavoured water with the Fitverse design on its label whilst also including, fiber rich and protein packed foods like nuts and oats which matches one of the subscription options on the Fitverse app. Lastly I included a heartfelt thank you letter as a personal touch to express gratitude to subscribers.
Not too much detail, but consistent brand DNA around the box and its unboxing experience.
