Blackstone Gulf needed a company profile that reflected the level and direction the business had grown into. Their existing company profile no longer reflected the level or direction of the business.
Originally positioned as a real estate brokerage, the firm had evolved into a far more strategic operation spanning residential and commercial sales, business acquisitions, tenant mix strategy, brand alignment, and commercial asset positioning across the UAE.
The existing document felt operational - dense with maps, listings, and repeated partner sections. Informative, but not representative of the company they had become. The goal was to rebuild it entirely as something closer to an editorial brand document than a traditional company profile.
The Approach
The project began with a complete structural rethink. Rather than refining the existing layout, the document was rebuilt around narrative flow and pacing, allowing each section to build naturally on the last.
The structure focused on:
A stronger opening that clearly established the company’s current positioning
Full-bleed visual moments used intentionally to create rhythm, tone, and scale
A concise transition from brokerage roots into strategic advisory
A clearer articulation of how the company operates and thinks
Market presence reframed away from map-heavy layouts
Capabilities simplified into more digestible, structured sections
Track record anchored in key figures and curated client relationships rather than volume
Team placement intentionally held until credibility and positioning had already been established
Design Direction
The visual direction was restrained, editorial, and highly intentional. Typography, layout, and imagery were treated as part of the positioning itself, not decorative layers added afterward.
The existing palette of white, soft neutrals, black, and gold already carried the right level of sophistication. The refinement came through structure: pairing serif and sans-serif typography to create stronger hierarchy, pacing, and consistency across the 20-page document.
Imagery was integrated directly into the layouts rather than treated as filler. Full-bleed compositions were used sparingly to create pauses within the narrative and reinforce scale without overwhelming the content.
The overall goal was control and clarity, allowing the document to feel premium and cinematic without becoming over designed.
The Result
The final outcome was a 20-page repositioning document that reads with the restraint and authority of a brand book rather than a corporate brochure or pitch deck.
Controlled, intentional, and structured to reflect the level of business Blackstone Gulf had grown into.
The final direction was approved with the client noting that the tone, flow, and overall positioning reflected exactly what they were aiming to communicate through the new profile.
