Timeline: 6 weeks
Role: UX Designer
Tools Used: Figma, FigJam, Notion, Maze
Team: 1 UX Designer, 1 Researcher, 1 Developer
Goal: Design a mobile app to help friends coordinate social plans, build habits together, and stay emotionally aligned.
1. Problem Statement
Modern friendships are often fragmented due to busy schedules and digital overload. While messaging apps help with communication, they don’t provide structure or motivation for shared goals or plans.
Key Problems Identified:
Difficulty in aligning schedules.
Lack of follow-through on shared habits/goals.
Communication fatigue when planning events.
2. Research & Discovery
User Interviews
We interviewed 8 participants (ages 20–35) who maintain long-distance or busy friendships.
Insights:
75% wished they had a way to consistently connect beyond chats.
60% struggled to follow through on group plans.
40% were interested in shared wellness/habit tracking.
Competitive Analysis
Looked at apps like:
BeReal (emotional check-ins)
Calendly (scheduling)
Habitica (habit tracking)
Facebook Events (event coordination)
Gap Identified: No single app combines planning, habit sync, and emotional alignment in a fun, low-friction format.

4. Information Architecture & User Flow
Onboarding → Select core friends → Set initial habit/plan
Home Screen → View sync score → Check shared schedule → See emotional check-ins
Creating a UX design case study for a behavioral coordination app for friends involves showing how the app helps friends stay in sync, manage social plans
